Welcome Aboard The Miss Mary!
With the economic times being what they are, we have changed our rate schedule to make fishing with us a little more Affordable. You may now choose our “Family Vacation Special”. This special package is for six (6) people for three hours of family fun and fishing in the great Atlantic Ocean and it only costs $50 per person. Our five hour trip (½ day) trip is economically priced at $75 per person for six people. The seven hour (3/4 day) trip is priced at $100 per person for six people.
What’s New for 2010? Customizable TripsLast year, in addition to fishing, we had several scenic cruises for the graduating seniors and a “ladies only" full day offshore fishing trip. If you're searching for a fishing charter on Oak Island, you've come to the right place. We're looking forward to being a part of your vacation. We can customize your trip to be what you want it to be. Guide ServiceOur Fishing Guide Service was so successful in 2009, we decided to continue this service in 2010. If you’ve been looking for a way to learn how to catch more fish with what you have, this is for you. Our guide service teaches you how to catch more fish using your boat and your rod and reels. We’ll teach you how to save money tying your own rigs, how to properly troll for Kings, Spanish, Blues, or whatever you would like to catch. We don’t tell you what you're doing wrong, instead we teach the right way. We charge only $25 per hour, with a four hour minimum. Boater TrainingWe have added boater training to our range of services offered. We can teach you everything from loading and unloading your boat on the trailer to navigating the waterway to understanding what the signs and buoys mean. We spend time on the correct way to dock your boat. We practice backing in and out, docking in tight situations, and proper dock line knots. We teach to correct use of GPS units and fish finder operation. The most important thing that we teach is boater safety and how to handle challenging situations. We only charge $25/hr with a 4 hour minimum. New EquipmentWe have added new electronics to the boat for 2010. We now have a wide screen Garmin 3206 Chartplotter/GPS in addition to the Garmin 172C that we had. We’ve installed XM satellite weather and HD depth sounder/fish finder. A new Furuno radar system and fuel monitoring equipment were also installed. Local AccommodationsWe have teamed up with several local homeowners to offer special rates for week and weekend trips to Oak Island. We have a two-bedroom mobile home on the island just two blocks from the beach for just $75/night with a two night minimum stay and a cleaning fee. We also have two fully furnished and nicely appointed three-bedroom homes on the island only a short distance from the beach for $125/night with a two night minimum stay and a cleaning fee. In addition, we partner with several homeowners on Bald Head Island. These rates are only available if you have booked a fishing trip with us. Please mention when you book your charter that you need information on accommodations, and we'll be happy to put you in touch with the owners of these very nice homes. Your Captain, Michael Brazil, is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Master Captain with a 100 ton rating. He has been fishing the North and South Carolina coast for more than fourteen years. His fishing skills were learned from older experienced captains while mating on various vessels. He has served as the First Mate on the Super Voyager II, which is part of the Voyager Fishing Fleet in Calabash, NC, and was also the Master on the Starship in Southport, NC. He previously captained The Hooker and now of course, has captained The Miss Mary for three seasons. Captain Michael is originally from Rock Hill, SC. He graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1977. He graduated from York Technical College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. He was a Quality Assurance Engineer for more than 20 years. He seems to like his current office view much better than the inside of a factory. Whether bottom fishing for grouper and snapper, trolling for King Mackerel and Mahi-Mahi or just Dolphin sightseeing, he loves fishing and being on the water. We are located in Oak Island, North Carolina, and can provide pick-up from docks on Oak Island, Holden Beach, Southport and Bald Head Island. We offer full day, half day and three-quarter day private charter fishing, as well as shark trips.
